FCM is proud to partner with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cornwall and District to collect unwanted electronics from the citizens and businesses of Cornwall and the surrounding area and processing it into reusable resources with a goal of zero landfill.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a charitable organization dedicated to helping children growing up in primarily lone parent families to achieve their full potential through mentoring programs with caring responsible adult volunteers.
The Big Brother/Big Sister program is provided at no charge to the children and their families. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Cornwall and District, in order to carry out the intake, orientation, screening, matching, and follow-up casework, must raise funds from a number of sources, including Bowl for Kids Sake, bingos, sale of Nevada’s, donations, a golf tournament and now e-waste collection. The agency is under the United Way umbrella.
This latest initiative demonstrates Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Cornwall’s commitment to the environment and sustainable living for their community.
To aid Big Brothers / Big Sisters in providing these essential services, FCM will make a charitable contribution per pound of electronics collected.
FCM’s commitment to Cornwall and District is demonstrated by choosing Cornwall as one of our processing centers and working with organizations like Big Brothers and Big Sisters and the community in general to manage our waste locally and ethically.
